Most instructors agree that one of the most important, common sense tactics in defensive pistol craft is movement. Much like in martial arts or athletics, footwork is one of the first things taught. How important is this in defensive handgunning? We believe footwork is the fundamental of everything we teach.

Our class sizes are small and designed in a way where movement is safe – it’s the first concept we cover. Traditionally, in defensive handgun classes, you stand on a line with 20 other shooters, wait for the command, then draw and shoot. Movement is typically saved until advanced classes because of range safety. This is absolutely to the detriment of the student.

Live-fire courses cover basic footwork fundamentals and principles necessary for defensive pistol craft. Our simulation courses kick the training into high gear, continuing the development of footwork and defensive tactics. In these courses we use non-lethal airsoft pistols against trained role players in situations that simulate confrontation.
